Dozens of mobile phones were stolen or damaged. “Philly is falling,” says a stunned passerby on one of the videos (below) showing the store being stormed and looted.
Other videos on social media show masked people, many of them carrying backpacks and bags. They fear the police, who have received calls from all over the city.
Although the supervisor acted rudely (see X article above), no injuries were reported. Earlier in the day, retailer Target announced the closure of nine stores in four states due to rising crime.
