A professor ended up in court in Graz for stalking his ex-girlfriend. He regrets that, but he doesn’t seem to be completely done with the relationship yet…
A university professor stalked his ex-partner for five weeks. He left food, flowers and gifts at her door, ambushed her in the parking lot and watched her. Only when the woman from Styria received an order did the defendant wake up. “She was his great love. He worked tirelessly and, in retrospect, too stubbornly to strengthen the relationship,” says lawyer Julia Halm. “My client is a theorist, he had difficulty coping with the fact that he was not given an answer to the question of what the reason for the divorce was.”
“She saw it differently than I did”
“I made a mess of it,” the professor admits to Julia Noack. ‘But I didn’t think I would bother her so much. I probably experienced it very differently than they did.” – “And now the relationship is over for you too?” the judge wants to know. “Yes. And I have to accept that I will never know why.” But he can’t just erase the memories. “You don’t seem to have fully come to terms with it yet?” – “Not with the memories, but with the lady.”
He accepts the 300 euros as partial compensation: “If that helps her.” He is given time off on probation, but must undergo psychotherapy.
