Along the U3 in Vienna – “Aggro” excursion: Duo beats passers-by

Date:

Disturbing scenes in Vienna. Two young Romanians (16 and 21) shot five people as they strolled along the U3 in broad daylight. The sentence handed down by the Vienna Regional Court is conditional.

A few days ago the “Krone” reported about young men causing riots on Christian-Broda-Platz in Vienna-Mariahilf. On Wednesday, two Romanians (17, 21) were in court for causing mischief in the immediate vicinity of the gang hotspot.

The scenes from the video surveillance that the judge played in the trial are disturbing: Mr A. (62) walks through the station with a shopping bag before the suspects punch him out of nowhere. “My jaw was broken. “Now I can’t open my mouth completely,” the victim, represented by lawyer Christian Werner, is struggling with the longer-term consequences.

Witness observes excessive force
The man is not the only one who was beaten by the duo for no reason on June 9. Earlier they attacked an elderly man walking his dog in Schweglerstrasse. Later they brutally assaulted three more random victims. They continued to abuse Mr. K. when he was already on the ground. “First one man kicked, then the other,” an eyewitness said of the excessive force. Another victim is strangled, but manages to free himself.

The young person has a relevant criminal record
“We were very drunk and can’t remember anything,” was the attackers’ argument. Be careful in the morning! The verdict: 9 or 12 months conditional and compensation for the victims. As is often the case, a conditional, relevant previous conviction is not revoked. The unpredictable metro criminals remain at large. Not legally binding.
