CPR for minutes – residents saved St. Veiter after quad bike accident

Neighbors saved the life of a 51-year-old from St. Veiter on Friday afternoon. The man had an accident with his quad and ended up upside down in a stream!

A 51-year-old man from the St. Veit district was probably just lucky. The man had an accident with his quad in Brückl for unknown reasons. The vehicle ended up in the stream with the steering wheel upside down. The man was already motionless when neighbors pulled him out of the water and resuscitated him.

Traveling without a driver’s license
“With the help of the volunteer fire brigade, he was rescued from the stream on a stretcher,” a police officer explains. With the support of all emergency services on site, the injured person was able to regain spontaneous circulation after a few minutes of resuscitation. With serious injuries, he was taken by the emergency services to the shock room of the central emergency room in Klagenfurt.

The man was driving an unregistered quad without a driver’s license.
