Investigation underway – After bus drama: waiting for report and video

Date:

Was it actually grabbing the water bottle that led to the fatal bus drama in St. Veit? Or was the driver of the accident not telling the truth? Many professional drivers registered with the “Krone”.

There is currently no new information about the actual accident. The technical experts are still examining the bus. The dashcam video review from the vehicle has not yet been completed. “We expect the reports by the end of October at the latest,” prosecutor Tina Frimmel-Hesse told the “Krone”.

Professional drivers question the statement
Only then will it become clear whether the driver of the accident told the truth during the interrogation. As reported, the 27-year-old lost control of the bus when he reached for the water bottle. A statement that many professional drivers do not want to believe – since they report independently to the “Krone”.

“Flying driver change”?
They are more likely to see a so-called ‘flying driver change’ as the cause of the accident. “I have looked at the section of the route and it is destined for such an action. Unfortunately, this is common in the industry during long-distance journeys – when you don’t want to stop so as not to waste time,” explains a long-serving driver on the phone.

The time of the accident, 4:30 am, would also indicate such a sudden driver change. “The drivers logically change seats when the passengers are sleeping and no one notices.” The expert reports should provide definitive clarity in a few weeks.
