Austrian women want to be financially independent: three in four are afraid that they will not receive a sufficiently high pension. You play it safe when it comes to savings and commission.
Although Austria has a very good state pension system internationally, three in four women expect their pension to be too low. This was the result of a study by Wiener Städtische, who surveyed women in the country between the ages of 18 and 50. Almost half have already taken out their own pension scheme. Every second person spends a maximum of 100 euros on it. Seven out of ten respondents appreciate that there is a guarantee for the premiums paid.
Even when it comes to saving, the majority of female respondents do not take any risks. 72 percent rely on the classic savings account or an online account. Almost half have a savings contract. Only eleven percent of those surveyed are willing to invest in stocks, gold or mutual funds.
In contrast, seven in ten respondents are satisfied with the public health system. Just like the vast majority with their own health. The majority of Austrians attach great importance to prevention. 70 percent reported having had regular gynecological examinations. Healthy food and sport are important for every second person. According to a recent survey, only one in three women between the ages of 18 and 50 is satisfied with the AOW system.
Big worries about cancer, hardly worried about Corona
Cancer is the biggest concern for women. But: Only eight percent are afraid of Corona. The younger generation of 18 to 29-year-olds in particular is afraid of mental illnesses such as depression, addiction or burnout. Incidentally, from a female point of view, men are sick more often, while women visit the doctor more often.
