Instead of a family residential park there is only a shell in Oberschützen in Burgenland and many disappointed tenants. The project operator was “out of air” during construction.
It was probably a project of hope, but now it is the main talking point in the city: the “Millennial Housing Complex” in Oberschützen. Nothing can be seen of the residential park other than construction site grids and a half-finished hull. Ten flats and more than a dozen mansions should have been built here. The first tenants should move in last August. Instead, everything has come to a standstill, the company posters have since been removed and replaced by the telephone number of the curator, Wolfgang Steflitsch.
Funded through crowdfunding
The operator was ‘short of air’ with the project, the lawyer explains when asked. Apparently Immo-Sandy & Partners, which is located behind the residential park, has caught up financially. Since there is no liquidity, the company is closed. A German bank and to a lesser extent private donors who co-financed the project through crowdfunding are affected. Ste Flash can’t say how many there are.
Tenant had already given up her place of residence
The bankruptcy is also bitter for those who wanted to move in here. You have already transferred money. However, it is in a trust account and therefore secured, the liquidator reassured. This is cold consolation for one of those affected: she had already given up her place of residence and trusted that the apartments would be ready on time. She would have already invested in furniture. In the end, she had to look for alternative departures.
Construction companies are interested
Steflitsch now wants to settle the case as quickly as possible. The value of the property must be estimated and then sold. “A few interested parties have already registered, both housing developers and construction companies,” says the lawyer. Anyone who is awarded the contract must also take over the existing contracts and continue the project.
