Following the horrific bus crash near the railway line in Venice, which left 21 dead and 15 injured, it has now been confirmed that two Austrians are among the injured.
Five injured people are currently in life-threatening condition. It is currently unclear whether the Austrians are included. The shuttle bus came off a causeway on Tuesday evening and fell about 50 feet. The Public Prosecution Service has already started an initial investigation.
No skid marks
This should clarify why the bus drove off the road on Tuesday evening while driving back to the mainland from the lagoon city. According to initial information, no skid marks were found on the road, which was interpreted as an indication that the driver had passed out.
