The ambassador of the Palestinian National Authority (ANP) in Spain, Husni Abdel Wahed has clarified that “the entire political Islam in Palestine”, referring to the Hamas group, among others, barely has “10% of the approval” of the population, although he has warned that if the Israeli repression increases, “it will increase even further.”
In an interview offered to the program “Boulevard” on Radio Euskadi, Abdel Wahed criticized the position of USA or Europe, which “incites Israel to eradicate the Gaza Strip, and that means they have a license to kill.” Similarly, he has criticized for years “the occupation that the Palestinian people suffered under.” Western double standards: “Why is terrorism tolerated when the victims are Palestinians and not when they are Israelis?” he asked. He also denounced that the West “falls into the trap of being interested in Hamas hostages” and fails to do so for the nearly 15 million Palestinians who are “deprived of the most fundamental rights, including life.” .
Abdel Wahed has compared the situation in the Middle East to the law that governs nature: “the greater the pressure, the end result is an explosion.” This is how he has assured this for the time being the conflict will continue and “this episode will repeat itself again and again” while there is occupation and Israel continues its ‘fascist policies’. “The Palestinian people will rise again because they remember that we have a long history of resistance. We do not share Hamas’ methods, but we will continue to resist until we regain our most fundamental rights,” he concluded.
