Violent attacks – Citizens in Gaza: “We cannot move”

Date:

After the massacre by the Islamic Hamas in Israel, the army is currently bombing the Gaza Strip (Palestine). Eyewitnesses report desperate scenes at the scene. “What is happening here is insane,” says Mohammed Baroud. Entire streets would be in ruins and people would be unable to move or obtain important things.

Driving is no longer conceivable, says Tahani Jaber, who therefore travels on foot. She left her children with her mother. She had to get medicine for her baby, who had a high fever for the second day in a row. “I feel like I’m getting closer to death every moment, but the lives of the children are more important.”

Leaving the house is dangerous right now. Anyone can “be bombed and die at any time,” says resident Baroud. “We can’t move.” After every attack there is another one. As reported, Hamas hit squads attacked Israel on Saturday. The massacre also killed numerous civilians, including 260 visitors to a music festival.

Hamas among the civilian population?
Since then, the Israeli army says it has bombed hundreds of positions belonging to the Islamic Palestinian organization in the densely populated area on the Mediterranean coast. At least 1,354 people have been killed and more than 6,000 others injured, according to the local health ministry. The Israeli army accuses Hamas of using people as shields and hiding among the civilian population or stockpiling weapons.

More than two million people live in the closed coastal strip. Many had to leave their homes; For example, Jaber Al-Sufi spends the night with his family in a protection center in Gaza. He fears the situation could get worse. The population already has no electricity, water or food. “What’s happening here is insane,” says Baroud. According to eyewitnesses, the destruction is devastating in some parts of the city.
