“The trail in the war against Israel increasingly leads to Iran,” Kurt Seinitz, head of the International Politics Department at Krone, is convinced. The fact that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sees no connection in this is “a political and diplomatic lie because the US does not want to go to war with Iran”. The fact that the US does not attach conditions to its military aid is the second lie: “There is no Israeli war that does not need US approval.” In an interview with Conny Winiwarter, Seinitz sees only one solution for Israel: a ground offensive – and one reoccupation.
If Israel wants to ‘clean up’, then that is the only way. Seinitz: “Hamas must be eradicated. It’s not about urban warfare. You have to crack the Hamas world under Gaza – all the tunnel systems and the halls where weapons are manufactured.” And that is only possible with a ground offensive and a reoccupation of the Gaza Strip.
A ground offensive will kill Israeli hostages
Israel is currently in a dilemma. “It will be even more terrible,” says Seinitz, who paints a bleak picture. Because if the ground offensive is launched, the more than a hundred Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip will also die. It is clear to him: the ground offensive is coming.
“Israel accepts collateral damage”
The Israeli Energy Minister is currently trying to get his hostages through blackmail. The motto is hostages against electricity. The fact that civilians on the Palestinian side will also die is ‘collateral damage that Israel must accept’.
How much complicity does Israel bear?
The Palestinian ambassador to Austria also sees the blame for the escalation in the Middle East on Israel and its long history of suffering. Seinitz disagrees: “Whatever Israel has done, it does not justify its barbaric, bestial campaign of murder.” The current Israeli government, on the other hand, has continually ‘poured fuel on the fire’. But for him this “cannot be placed on the same level”.
The US’s two ‘diplomatic lies’
For Seinitz there is a clear connection with Iran. US Secretary of State Blinken does not see this “because he does not want to get involved in the war with Iran,” Seinitz said. The US has also promised military aid – and it is not tied to any conditions. “This is the second diplomatic lie. There is no Israeli war on Gaza that the United States does not have to approve.”
“Champagne corks must continue to pop in the Kremlin”
After all, the US has to supply weapons. This also has consequences for arms deliveries to Ukraine.
You can see in the video above what impact all this has on the war in Ukraine, why you can ‘forget’ the two-state solution and whether Hezbollah threatens the next level of escalation.
