Wrong numbers and unclear information. The road to the energy bonus is a difficult one – including bureaucratic hurdles.
“It’s a mess.” Maria Scharnagl can only shake her head. The woman from Halle received a post from the federal government these days. She was sent a form with which she can request the energy bonus of 150 euros. “It wasn’t my voucher at all,” says the retiree.
The federal government only provides its letters with an address and top number, but not with a name. “Everyone in our apartment building just got some kind of voucher. I found my days later by sheer coincidence,” says Scharnagl annoyed.
The bigger the apartment building, the bigger the chaos
An isolated case? Not at all. Several “Krone” readers from the city of Salzburg and Flachgau report similar incidents. “We are only in the process of redeeming the vouchers in our house,” says a woman from Salzburg. According to the motto: the bigger the apartment building, the bigger the chaos.
Anyone who calls the federal government telephone hotline always gets the same answer. You only get the bonus with the right voucher. However, from May 27, those involved can request a personalized voucher.
At Salzburg AG, the complaints are piling up. “Unfortunately, we are the wrong contact here, we have nothing to do with the processing,” reads a “Krone” request.
