WEGA and dogs are also in action
Police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger confirmed on Sunday that police immediately searched the affected locations in the city center and in the Landstrasse district. The WEGA special unit and the police dog unit were also involved in the operations. Nothing dangerous was discovered.
“When the searches revealed no abnormalities, the operation was terminated and the events were allowed to take place,” the spokesperson said. “The investigation into the unknown perpetrators is in full swing.” The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Combating Terrorism was also informed about the incident.
