In Austria, 23,357 new corona infections have been reported in the past 24 hours (from 9.30 am on Friday). 40 other people infected with the virus died. A week ago, there were 37,910 new cases. In the normal wards of the hospitals, the occupancy rate fell by 90 places, the number of patients in the intensive care units by four places (220 patients in total).
So far there are 3,854,405 positive test results in Austria. As of today (April 1, 9.30am), 15,905 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died and 3,497,957 have recovered across Austria. There are currently 3,092 people infected with the corona virus in hospital. Of these, 220 are cared for in the intensive care unit.
New infections in the federal states in the past 24 hours:
- Lower Austria: 5725
- Vienna: 5549
- Upper Austria: 4222
- Styria: 2175
- Carinthia: 1431
- Salzburg: 1273
- Tyrol: 1121
- Burgenland: 959
- Vorarlberg: 902
However, the number of daily corona deaths remains high: 40 people still died.
