Perpetrator drunk – attack on moneyman failed twice

Date:

A 23-year-old managed to rob money deliverers twice on Wednesday evening. However, the man was not ‘in control of his senses’, as he later stated: he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

After a local tour and apparently heavy alcohol and drug use, the 23-year-old Syrian noticed a cash transport van manned by two armed money carriers filling an ATM in the area of the city around 2 a.m. mall.

As he left the premises, the unarmed and unmasked 23-year-old ambushed the money messengers, grabbed one by the shoulder and shouted, “Money here!”

Tried to take money by force
The money messenger pushed the suspect away, after which he also threatened the second messenger with the words: “Money here!” The 23-year-old tried to take the containers from the cash courier by force.

When the Syrian noticed that another guard had arrived and called the police by telephone, he fled to the north.

Man is not ‘master of his senses’
After about 100 meters, the man took off his jacket and returned to the crime scene. He again asked the guards to hand over the money. At the same time, the first police patrols arrived and arrested him.

During his interrogation, the man confessed, but stated that he was only motivated to commit the crime because of his influence on alcohol and drugs. He saw the packets of money and could no longer control his senses. He was taken to Graz-Jakomini prison.
