Because a 39-year-old was speeding, he was pulled out of traffic by police officers. When officers checked the car, they found a gun and bags of drugs.
On Thursday evening, officers from the Leopoldsgasse police station noticed a 39-year-old man because he was driving too fast.
Car stolen?
During the vehicle inspection it quickly became clear that the man did not have a driver’s license, that the inspection sticker applied was for a different car and that the license plates had also been reported as stolen. The Serb said he had borrowed the car from a friend.
When officers searched the car on suspicion of a criminal offence, they found a small caliber pistol and drugs wrapped in bags.
The suspect did not provide any information about either seizure. The man, who was already subject to an official weapons ban, was temporarily arrested.
