Losing control of his car in a bend, a local man crashed his car into a bridge railing in Tyrol’s Zillertal on Friday afternoon. The 22-year-old suffered serious head injuries.
Around 4:20 p.m. the man came from Stumm via the municipal road into the valley towards Aschau. For unknown reasons he skidded in a right bend, the rear swerved and the car hit the side of the railing of the bridge over the Kitzstallerbach.
Flown to hospital
The driver suffered serious head injuries in the collision and the Aschau fire brigade had to free him from the wreckage with rescue scissors. The emergency doctor’s helicopter then flew the 22-year-old to the Schwaz hospital.
In addition to the Aschau fire brigade, the FFW Zell am Ziller and Kaltenbach, the rescue service and the police were also present.
