“Robbery” – the police in Linz are currently hunting for robbers. A tobacconist was robbed in the morning. Heavy forces are now on their way and there is also a helicopter in the air. They are probably already hot on the robber’s heels.
Hands up, everyone! This is an attack!” With these words, two unknown people entered a tobacco shop in the Neue Heimat district of Linz on Friday morning. It was 9:05 am when the men, masked with balaclavas and hoods over their heads, demanded money from the two employees. One of the perpetrators also had a gun with him and demanded that a customer put her mobile phone away. Meanwhile, the second perpetrator stood behind the cash register and helped himself to the open cash register. However, according to the police, the loot would have been small .
Search initially failed
After their coup, the duo disappeared on foot in the Neubauzeile towards the city. An immediate search for the two robbers was initially unsuccessful. The three people present in the tobacconist were unharmed, but were in shock. This was the second armed robbery this year for the two employees.
For the second time this year
On January 17 this year, an 18-year-old from Linz marched on the same tobacconist wearing a mask. He was arrested a short time later and also admitted to two more tobacconist robberies. The 18-year-old went to prison for 22 months, a 16-year-old accomplice for 15 months.
