The police and rescue workers had their hands full in Vorarlberg on Friday. In Dornbirn, a 17-year-old was hit by a car when she tried to cross the protective path with her e-scooter. Two vehicles collided with each other on the A14 due to aquaplaning, and in Egg a 58-year-old woman was hit by a truck door.
The accident between the motorist and the driver of the e-scooter took place around 3:20 p.m. The 78-year-old was driving towards the hospital on the L204 in Dornbirn when he collided with the 17-year-old at the intersection with Bäumlegasse. The young woman wanted to cross the protective path, fell and suffered serious head injuries. She was taken by ambulance to the state hospital in Feldkirch.
Cuts on the face
At around 4:45 p.m., a 58-year-old motorist was driving unsuspectingly towards Bersbuch on the L48 from Schwarzenberg, when a truck with a coupled trailer came towards her. Just as the 58-year-old was about to drive past the truck, the rear swing door of the truck trailer suddenly opened and hit the driver’s vehicle with full force.
The violent impact shattered the car’s side window and left the driver with minor cuts to her face. There was significant damage to her vehicle.
To the hospital as a precaution
An accident occurred on the Rhine Valley Motorway at around 7.25 pm as a result of aquaplaning. A motorist was driving on the standard lane towards Germany when a second driver, with two passengers in the vehicle, tried to overtake. He skidded and hit the car in the normal lane.
Both vehicles ended up on the guardrail. All four occupants were taken to hospital as a precaution. The damaged cars were towed away. The highway was closed between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM during the cleaning work.
