A strange incident took place on Rudolfsplatz in Salzburg, opposite a police patrol who happened to be there. A motorcyclist was hit by a taxi driver while changing lanes on Sunday evening and ended up in the passenger seat with his wife. The obviously injured person took off his helmet, ran towards the Salzach and jumped into the river.
After a short time in the water, he surrendered to the officers, the police said in a press release. The 27-year-old from Pongau denied being in the company of a woman and refused to take an alcohol test. Cannabis herb was seized from his two-wheeler.
The vehicle’s license plate was registered to another vehicle, but was not reported stolen. He was taken to hospital due to his injuries. A report was filed against the man.
