Forced to pray – Mosque near Moscow: all men are sent to war

Date:

There are now increasing numbers of cases in Russia where men are forced into military service under wild threats. What happened near Moscow on Friday is particularly shocking. After praying in a mosque, all the men there were arrested by the police and sent to the army.

“We are just consumables for (Russian President Vladimir, take note) Putin,” a Russian woman, who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons, told krone.at. Under the guise of ‘partial mobilization’, more and more people are being recruited, many of them involuntarily.

This was also the case this weekend, as Mamut Useinow, one of those affected, described on social networks. He was praying in a mosque in the city of Kotelniki near Moscow. As he left the church, the police raided his home and took away all the men, including himself. Useinow notes a blatant violation of the law by the Military Registration and Recruitment Agency.

Forced to sign a contract
The men were assured that they only wanted to ‘check their documents’. A bus took them to a military office in the city of Lyubertsy, where a medical examination took place. Useinov wrote that he was declared ‘fit’ and then transferred to a collection point for contract soldiers. Then they were ordered that everyone had to sign a one-year contract to work in Ukraine, otherwise they would go to prison.

Never received a summons
“I believe this action violated all of my rights,” Useinow wrote. “They forcibly detained me, I had no way to appeal the decision, I had no way to inform them of my illnesses and beliefs. And most importantly, I did not receive a summons.”

Many men gave up
Some of the detained men had already put on their military uniforms and prepared for military service. Useinov disagreed. In a story on Instagram, he reported that he had to appear before the investigative committee. So far everything is the same. “We sit there and don’t know what we are waiting for. No one wants to tell us what will happen to us,” Useinow said.

Recruitment in an ambush
In Russia it happens time and again that people are sent to war under fabricated pretexts. In August, for example, a series of police raids were carried out in Russia against newly naturalized Russians – especially those of military age.

Violations of the law were constructed to force migrants into military service. The case of a Russian deaf man who was defrauded by officials also received a lot of attention. During what should have been a routine check, he signed a meaningless document disguised as a “pure formality.” It was then believed that he had “volunteered” for the war.
