Date now set – “Without us Vienna will die”: doctors’ protest in December

Date:

Doctors in the Viennese hospital are fighting for better working conditions. They will take to the streets at the beginning of December – the first details are known

After reports of danger and overload and open letters have not led to any improvement so far, the Viennese medical profession is now taking to the streets. As reported, plans for a work stoppage across Vienna are already in full swing. The Curia leaders want to give the first details on Tuesday. The “Krone” already has the first information and it appears that the Vienna Medical Association is also relying on brutal rhetoric for the coming strike.

“Without us Vienna will die”
Under the motto “Vienna will die without us”, the doctors will take to the streets on December 4. According to the current state of affairs, a protest march of doctors and all employees working in the clinics is planned through the center of Vienna. Meeting point is at 2:00 PM. It is currently unknown where the route will be and how long the first protest will last.

A third more everywhere
However, the demands are clear: the medical association demands 30 percent more staff, more time for patients, a third more salary and less bureaucracy for everyone in the hospital. With record spending planned for health and social services, it will likely be difficult for the city to meet these demands.
