On Friday, the action on the Red Bull Ring gained momentum. The MotoGP toppers have already turned the first laps. Up to 200,000 fans are expected in Spielberg. The police are prepared for the attack and have tips ready for a stress-free trip.
“Nothing relevant has happened so far,” says Markus Lamb, doing a check-up of the site. However, the police spokesperson expects significantly more fans on Saturday and Sunday than on Friday. “So far it is still relatively manageable and everything is civilized.”
With a sophisticated traffic concept, large traffic jams should ideally be completely prevented. And Lamb also has a few tips ready: “The earlier you come, the better. There are different routes – depending on whether I come by car, train or bicycle. It is worth taking a look at the Red Bull Ring homepage or the app.”

It is also important to keep calm during delays. “In addition to a good mood, a little patience in your luggage can certainly not hurt. We also observe events from the air with helicopters and drones. There may be spontaneous diversions or blockages. But at the moment it is still the most suitable route,” says the police spokesperson.
For those who come early enough, the organizers have a special treat on Sunday: from 07:30, vouchers for an early bird surprise will be handed out at the entrances, which can be redeemed at the MotoGP Bike City. On departure, it should be borne in mind that campers cannot leave until 8 p.m. to avoid mixing with day-trippers on the street. “But if the situation allows, we can leave the campsites earlier,” says Lamb, who is confident about the weekend.
