“Very simple” – Stranded in war: what does Austria do for me?

Date:

There is a war raging in Israel. Hostages are captured and tortured. Austrian citizens are also among them. The repatriations are in full swing. The “Krone” asked lawyer Sascha Flatz what can my country do for me in a war zone? The answers will not always make things easier for those affected.

If you are stolen, robbed or have an accident in another country, the first route should be to the Austrian embassy. And that also if war breaks out. Through consular protection, Austria is obliged to provide its citizens with the best possible support.

However, this does not automatically include repatriation from a war zone like Israel. The European Court of Justice has decided this. And what does the future look like for terrorists once the war is over?

You can see the background and explanation in the video above!
