Question answer from the National Council on the deportation of a 13-year-old student from Salzburg – with formal answers and apology for data protection. Criticism comes from NEOS politician Stephanie Krisper.
The “Krone” readers know the fate of Husein (13): The table tennis talent was deported to Azerbaijan with his family in mid-February – under protest from classmates and club colleagues. The matter reached the National Council: Stephanie Krisper (NEOS) filed a request with the Department of the Interior.
Formal answers with few details
Now the 16-page answer is available: many formal answers, but hardly any details about Husein’s deportation. “Unfortunately, the Department of the Interior has, probably for good reasons, dodged many questions,” Krisper criticizes. For example, there is “no information at all about the individual case” when it comes to the questions about the child welfare test.
When asked why the father separated from the family after the arrest, the Interior Ministry even refers to data protection. Some data are missing, for example on the number of deportations of families with minors.
Hopes for Husein’s return are alive: the Salzburg magistrate is currently examining the student visa application.
