Not everyone is in favor of the planned sale of the Reiters Resort in Stegersbach to the state of Burgenland. The surrounding hotels are enthusiastic about the takeover. The wish: more overnight stays and especially more cooperation on joint marketing activities.
Even though the contract has not yet been signed, it has been in place for almost two weeks: at the beginning of this year, the state of Burgenland will take over the Stegersbach thermal baths, including hotels and Austria’s largest golf resort – the Golfschaukel Stegersbach – from Karl Reiter, who owns it. resort from the state subsidiary WIBAG, purchased in 2008. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil recently announced that research is currently underway to determine which factors are relevant to a purchasing decision. Only then will you know the purchase price. If everything goes according to plan, the transfer of ownership should take place on January 1, 2024. However, opinions about the purchase differ at the Thermenhügel in Stegersbach. The reason is historical, because the cooperation between hotels and Burgenland Tourism has been weak for years.
