In the East German city of Erfurt, a couple in a car turned off a traffic light – until the police arrived. The officers noticed on Friday evening that a car with fogged windows had been parked in the middle of the street at a traffic light for a long time, the police reported on Sunday evening. The police officers decided to take care of the right – “surprising the two loving occupants”, as it was said.
The couple were “visibly embarrassed by the situation,” the police of the Thuringian state capital said in their broadcast.
The occupants of the vehicle reported that they could no longer contain their desire for each other because the traffic light was broken and would not change gears.
However, they themselves had activated the long red phase: the driver had driven too far forward at the demand-controlled traffic light, causing it to be continuously “red”. After paying a fine, the couple started driving again. The amount involved has not been disclosed.
