Rioting young people, injured police officers – a year ago Linz experienced a real horror Halloween. The “Krone” recapitulated the events of the previous year with Andreas Plöckinger, the head of SOKO Halloween, and asked Karl Pogutter, commander of the Linz city police, how they plan to prevent further riots this year.
“Kron”: Mr. Plöckinger, SOKO was founded after the riots, what was the situation like then?
Andreas Plöckinger: We were fortunate that people were stopped during this operation. We started investigating based on this dataset. It also soon became clear that the whole thing had been organized as a flash mob, especially after it became known that the video entitled “Tomorrow Linz will Become Athena” had appeared on TikTok.
