Admitted to hospital – welding worker injured by electric shock

Painful working day for a 23-year-old in the Spittal an der Drau district: for unknown reasons, the young man received a severe electric shock while welding.

At a company site in Greifenburg, the worker had applied the earthing to the workpiece to be welded as required. But when the 23-year-old started welding, 380 volts of electricity suddenly flowed through his body. Specifically, it entered his left hand and exited his gluteal muscle.

The injured man ended up in hospital
After first aid was provided by the alerted members of the Red Cross office in Greifenburg, the employee was transported to the Spittal an der Drau hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
