The famous 54-year-old American actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles.
The actor Matthew Perryknown for playing Chandler Bing in the popular series Friendsdied Saturday morning at the age of 54, various American media report.
The newspaper Los Angeles Times points out, citing police sources, that Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. Authorities went to his home around 4 p.m. local time (12 a.m. in the Basque Country) and found him unconscious, the newspaper said.
“There were no signs of any criminal act,” the newspaper added, saying that the Los Angeles Police Department, in charge of “robberies and murders,” is investigating the death.
Perry gained his popularity in the series of this group of friends, played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, which lasted 10 seasons. He also starred in films like The whole nine yardsin which he shared the screen with Bruce Willis.
According to the actor himself, he suffered from various episodes of drug and alcohol addiction throughout his life.
