Files, delays – Now everyone wants to go home: Tin avalanches roll

Date:

Extensive weekend and beautiful weather – there were many sun -drenched people in the south. But then they have to go back. And that was really noticeable on many important traffic routes in the country on Sunday. In many places there were traffic jams and delays!

The ÖAMTC experts had already feared the traffic jams after the extensive Christi-Himmelfahrt weekend on Sunday. “It was a bit surprising that they were so violent around noon,” said it in the early afternoon.

Nothing worked on 16 kilometers
For example, there were the classic traffic jams in Tyrol. On the long division pass route (B179) in the direction of Germany between Reutte and Füssen, nothing went further with a length of 16 kilometers.

Webcam photos of the B179 between Reutte and Vils:

The ÖAMTC registered seven kilometers of traffic jams at Seefelder Straße (B177) between Seefeld and Scharnitz, also seven kilometers of traffic jams on Walchsee Straße (B172) between Kranzach and Niederndorf towards Kufstein. There were also delays and traffic jams along the A13 Burner Highway or at the Kufstein limit transition.

Files also in other federal states
On the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in Salzburg, the holiday columns were stood for the golking area to the north of the Golling area against 2.5 hours. But even in the south, car trails had to be patient for a maximum of 1.5 hours. In Bovenste Austria there were longer delays in sections at the Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) North between Gleinkerau and Zersersdorf.

The following chaos threatens at Pentecost
The heaven of Christ was probably only a first taste. Pentecost and therefore one of the busiest weekends of the entire year are already in the program next week.
