Middle East War – Stephansplatz: Strollers are reminiscent of hostages

Date:

Anyone who was at Stephansplatz in Vienna on Monday may have seen strollers with missing reports. These were set up by Jewish civil society to commemorate minors kidnapped by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas. The action was just one of many planned.

This time there were 36 strollers with missing persons reports and red and white balloons on display. Each stroller represented an abducted person under the age of 18. There was also a photo portrait of the victim. The installation was set up on Stephansplatz in Vienna and no incidents occurred.

The action was organized by various Jewish social organizations. Finally, a major event is planned for Thursday on Heldenplatz, which, according to co-organizer Daniel Landau, is intended as a clear commitment by civil society against anti-Semitism, terror, violence and hatred. Family members of the hostages are expected, among others, and support is also expected from Austria’s political leaders. The Israeli national anthem should be played as a sign of solidarity. It starts at 6pm.

Here you can see a message from Daniel Landau about the planned event.

Empty Shabbat table
As reported, an empty “Shabbat table” in Vienna’s Judenplatz on Friday drew attention to the 222 hostages kidnapped by Hamas. The ‘Hostages and Missing Families Forum – Bring them home now’ initiative has been organizing actions with Jewish communities around the world since the start of the war in the Middle East, most recently in London, Rome and Paris. We would like to draw attention to the unbearable situation of the kidnapped family members.

The Hamas terror group has so far published two videos of hostages, most recently one of three women sharply criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Media reports assume that Hamas dictated the text. Four women have been released from the Gaza Strip since October 7.
