Unknown animal torturers have set a forbidden trap in Wallern an der Trattnach (Upper Austria). However, instead of a beaver, a dog stepped in and almost died.
Snaptraps are illegal and strictly prohibited! Unknowns have placed one in Wallern an der Trattnach. Presumably to kill a highly protected beaver. A 24-year-old woman from the neighborhood walked along the Innbach with her Labrador on a leash on Tuesday afternoon.
Released motionless after 25 minutes
That’s when the accident happened. The dog activated the mechanism of the well-camouflaged death trap, the handle of which completely crushed his neck. The desperate owner – she could not help him alone – warned her grandfather. After about 25 minutes, the two managed to force the bar open enough that the four-legged friend could finally be freed.
Emergency veterinary intervention
The dog was already motionless at that time and was seriously injured in the neck. Only thanks to urgent veterinary intervention was it finally possible to save him.
The Bad Schallerbach police station is now urgently requesting information by telephone (059133 4231) about the person who set up the illegal trap. Such murder traps have been banned in Upper Austria since Easter 2009.
