At least 50 dead – Israel’s army attacks Jabalia refugee camp

Date:

The Israeli army has attacked the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip from the air. At least 50 Palestinians were killed and another 150 people were injured. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously rejected calls for a humanitarian ceasefire.

The director of the Indonesian hospital reported on the attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli side confirmed that an attack caused a massive explosion, which reportedly killed and injured many people, according to CNN. Platform contains messages about hundreds of victims

According to Palestinian Crescent, one of the hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, where about 14,000 civilians had sought shelter, was also shelled. The Israeli military accuses ruling Hamas of hiding its command centers beneath hospitals and using civilians as “human shields.” Hamas rejects this.

300 goals on Tuesday alone
According to its own information, the army carried out airstrikes on Tuesday alone on about 300 targets in the Gaza Strip, such as military positions in underground tunnels. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously categorically ruled out calls for a humanitarian ceasefire.

The government received support from the US government, but was criticized by the UN (see video above). It was said that the lives of millions of people were at stake. A UN representative complained that aid so far has been far from sufficient. “The handful of convoys allowed through Rafah are nothing compared to the needs of the more than two million people trapped in Gaza.”

Egypt wants to treat the injured
The Egyptian government now appears willing to accept injured people from the Palestinian territory. “Medical teams will be on site at the border crossing tomorrow,” a health authority representative said on Tuesday. The Rafah border crossing, which is not controlled by Israel, will open on Wednesday to allow in a certain number of wounded Palestinians. A photographer already saw countless ambulances.

In addition, according to Egyptian sources, a field hospital will be set up to treat wounded people from the Gaza Strip. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the shelling of the Jabalia refugee camp. It is an ‘indiscriminate attack that affects defenseless civilians’.
