At a festival in Hard in Vorarlberg, a man had neither his urge to urinate nor his mood under control. Now he has to pay for his mistakes.
With a hefty fine of 6,480 euros, the ‘summer feelings’ of the 35-year-old Unterländer seem to be on the sidelines for the time being. And that’s what it’s all about: The defendant and some colleagues are having a good time at the “Summerfeeling” festival in Hard in June. The 35-year-old makes an already wonderful evening of drinking even better when he gets the urge to pee. With two per mille, the drinker staggers towards the parking lot and, above all, chooses a fire truck as a urinal.
When the operations manager calls out to the person urinating in the car not to do so, the drunk takes notice for a moment and ultimately finishes what he started: his business. After the firefighter’s second amicable attempt fails, dynamics come into play. Supported by a colleague, the wild pee attacker attacks the head of the operation and his firefighters who rush to help with his hands and feet. After a police officer became aware of the commotion, he intervened and asked the suspect to identify himself. But he doesn’t think about it: “I don’t have to show the police anything!” Which he underlines with a ‘wave’ at the officer’s head. Across the street, a clumsy escape attempt fails. The man is arrested.
“Pure protective claim”
During the trial he pleaded guilty. “I only remember urinating, then I black out.” Prosecutor Katrin Feurle is still arguing for a guilty verdict: “Interestingly, the defendant only remembers urinating and nothing else. To me this is purely a protective claim.” Judge Lisa Pfeifer finds him guilty of resisting state authority, serious bodily harm and physical attacks on members of the fire brigade.
