The Transport Consortium extends the 50% discount on all temporary titles until January 13

Date:

The CTB thus compensates for the lack of discount in Metro Bilbao during the first 13 days of July, during which the 50% discount was not applied. From January 14, the 20% corresponding to the Bizkaia subsidy will be applied.

The General Deputy of Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe, has announced that the General Council of the Transport Consortium (CTB) of Bizkaia has approved on Tuesday the compensation for the first 13 days of July in which the 50% discount was not applied to the Metro Bilbao trips and has assured that the 50% discount on both the suburban and all temporary titles of the CTB will be extended until January 13.

Etxanobe has assured that the structural measures taken to boost public transport in Bizkaia will “overlap for a while” with the discount on transport passes of the Bizkaia Transport Consortium, which will be maintained throughout 2024 in the part corresponding to the Basque institutions . , the 20% discount.

As indicated by the deputy, this measure was approved on Tuesday in the General Council of the Bizkaia Transport Consortium, “just like the compensation for the first 13 days of July in which the 50% discount was not applied to the metro rides in Bilbao”.

Etxanobe recalled that the period of application of this 50% discount expires on December 31, although in the suburbs it “will be extended until January 13”.

For this reason, he emphasized that from today the discount calendar on public transport in Bizkaia stipulates that 50% will continue to apply to all operators until December 31.

From January 1 to 13, both included, this 50% will continue to apply to Metro Bilbao tickets and all temporary CTB tickets, while from January 14, 20% will be applied to all temporary CTB titles.
