At the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, presidents of the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) received death threats. The police are investigating and now hope to be able to trace the perpetrator through written samples.
“We want to do everything we can and have implemented extensive security measures to reject this cruel action,” said Elisabeth Gutjahr, who has been rector of the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2018 and was shocked by the threats.
Handwritten threats
At the end of October, three presidents of the ÖH of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg were threatened with death. Immediately investigated dangerous threats against unknown persons. Because the messages were not only written on the computer but also by hand, the police now want to use writing samples. The police also report that interrogations are currently taking place.
No motive for the death threats has yet been identified. The Salzburg police are investigating.
