Five people were killed when a small plane crashed Saturday afternoon in southeastern France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The occupants were said to have been four adults and a child.
As reported by the French news channel BFMTV, referring to the local police, the accident happened in a clearing near the town of Adrets in the department of Isère.
In total, about 60 firefighters and about 40 police officers were involved in the rescue operation. Five charred bodies were found.
The machine was started from Versoud airfield near Grenoble. The small plane Jodel D140 belonged to a flying club and had its first flight.
