Unnoticed by her parents, a one and a half year old girl was doing gymnastics with her siblings on the first floor windowsill in Baumgartenberg. When the screen broke, the toddler fell nearly four meters.
The accident happened at a refugee shelter in Baumgartenberg. The 27-year-old mother was in the kitchen, the father (33) in the bathroom.
The one-and-a-half-year-old girl played with her two older siblings, climbed on her parents’ bed, which was located exactly under the window of the apartment on the first floor. The older children also opened the window.
Almost four meters deep
When the little girl leaned against the screen, it broke and the child fell 12 feet into the paved parking lot.
The toddler with a craniocerebral trauma was flown with the emergency doctor helicopter “Christophorus 15” to the children’s clinic on Med Campus IV in Linz.
