A medical student now had to appear before the Krems Regional Court for rape in a hotel. The 24-year-old denied the charges – acquitted!
The stay in a wellness hotel in mid-December last year allegedly came to an abrupt end shortly before departure – at least according to the victim. Because precisely on the last day, despite the stress of departure, her secret lover allegedly refused an answer and “obtained the desired sexual intercourse by force”, as the prosecutor states at the beginning of the trial.
However, the suspect – a medical student from the Waldviertel – strongly denies this. The months-long ‘friendship plus’ now brought the 24-year-old to court in Krems on charges of rape. “It was consensual sex,” the defendant said during the trial and pleaded not guilty.
Only after his girlfriend gave him a dirty look and quietly grumbled at the train station shortly before departure did the situation seem strange to him. In tears, she eventually explained that she didn’t want to have sex at all.
Acquittal for suspect
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the victim defended himself several times and eventually went to the hospital with a friend. “She clearly said no,” the prosecutor said. The trial ended with the suspect being acquitted.
