On Thursday evening, numerous residents had to leave their apartments in an apartment complex due to a fire in Gumpoldskirchen (Mödling district). Four of them had to be treated by the rescue team and one person was taken to hospital.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the Gumpoldskirchen (FF) volunteer fire brigade was called to a room fire. The affected building was an apartment complex with apartments and shops.
Immediately after the arrival of the fire brigade, a respiratory protection team was sent to the apartment on the first floor and the FF Guntramsdorf was called in. A total of ten vehicles and 60 firefighters were deployed. The fire in the living room was quickly extinguished by the fire brigade. In addition, all smoke-filled areas were searched for persons.
All adjacent apartments surrounding the residential unit affected by the fire were evacuated and checked by the fire brigade. Only after the smoke-filled areas were ventilated were residents able to return to their apartments.
The Gumpoldskirchen and Guntramsdorf volunteer fire brigades were on duty.
