A thief took his chance in Oberschützen (Burgenland) on Saturday when an elderly woman left the front door open to air. The man sneaked into the house with a child and stole money. The Pinkafeld police have launched an investigation.
Before the 82-year-old sat down in front of the TV, she opened the front door to let in some fresh air. Soon after, she saw a shadow in the kitchen and saw a man running away with a child of about five years old.
In the front room, the woman saw that two shutters were open. However, nothing was stolen from it. The man then allegedly took all the banknotes from the wallet in a drawer in the kitchen.
The 82-year-old came away with the shock. The police are investigating the unknown thief.
