Unfortunately, during their “adventure ride” on the famous “Bottle Train” on Saturday, passengers also had a harrowing experience – which ended with injuries for a motorist! The driver must have missed the steam locomotive and his car was hit and thrown into the meadow.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. But the motorist probably missed the approaching bottle train on the unrestricted level crossing in the Graschuh district (municipality of Stainz) on Saturday afternoon and collided with it.
According to the fire brigade, the steam locomotive hit the side of the car and the vehicle was thrown into the adjacent meadow.
Initial findings indicate the driver was injured to an unspecified degree; the fire brigades of Stallhof, Stainz, Rossegg and Rassach rescued him from the badly damaged car. The engineer and passengers were unharmed.
