Has she stirred up hatred? – Pro-Palestine demonstration: British minister fired

Date:

According to British media, the controversial British Home Secretary Suella Braverman has been fired. The BBC and Sky News, among others, reported this on Monday, citing government sources. The right-wing politician in Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s cabinet has repeatedly caused controversy recently.

About 300,000 people took part in the pro-Palestinian demonstration in London on Saturday. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak previously called the protests ‘disrespectful’.

They clashed with officials on Saturday morning and tried to force their way to the ‘Cenotaph’ war memorial in London’s government district.

“Hate crimes” and anti-Semitism during the demonstration
Although the demonstration was largely peaceful despite its enormous size, there were also some ‘hate crimes’, for example in the form of anti-Semitic posters, according to police. According to the Metropolitan Police, 126 people have been arrested, including at least 92 right-wing extremists.

Braverman was now accused of inciting the angry mob. Last week, the conservative politician accused the London police – for which she is responsible – of, among other things, blinding her left eye and tolerating violations of the law during ‘hate marches’ against the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

People who took part in demonstrations in support of Palestinians in London on Saturday were summarily described by the Home Secretary as ‘Islamists’ and ‘mafia’ – even though demonstrations in London in recent weeks have been largely peaceful.

Agreed cooperation with Austria
The conservative hardliner has repeatedly provoked in recent months. She recently described homelessness as a “lifestyle choice.” At the party conference in Manchester in early October, she warned of a ‘hurricane’ of mass migration and that the Labor Party was doing nothing about it.

In early November, Braverman reached an agreement on a strengthened security partnership with Austria during a meeting with Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) in Vienna.
