In an article in The Times, he criticized the police’s decision not to ban the pro-Palestinian march on Saturday, noting that officers are “more lenient” toward these demonstrators than “against other groups.”
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunakhas dismissed the Minister of the Interior, Suella Braverman, who has been involved in several controversies and whose continuity in the Cabinet has already been definitively called into question by an article published last week in which she rejected the police’s consent for a pro- Palestinian protest questions.
Sunak formalized the decision on Monday, within a series of changes expected to impact other government portfolios, according to sources cited by the BBC.
Braverman accused in an article in The times the decision of the police not to ban the pro-Palestinian march Saturday, noting that officers are “more lenient” toward these protesters than “towards other groups.”
In an unusual attack on officers by a senior Home Office official, he also stated that the Metropolitan Police “has ignored the offenses committed by pro-Palestinian gangs” in the context of the protests that have taken place in recent weeks against the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.
Braverman was already part of previous cabinets and resigned from Liz Truss after admitting he had violated security protocols. However, just a few days later, Sunak won her back for the same portfolio and entrusted her with one of the policies, immigration, for which the current Prime Minister has so fervently advocated reform.
