Fatal traffic accident Tuesday night in the Tyrolean Oberland: A 25-year-old resident in Haiming (Imst district) drove his car off the road, after which the car overturned and fell into a stream bed. The driver suffered minor injuries and his passenger (23) suffered serious injuries. An alcohol test on the man was positive.
The accident happened around 2 a.m., according to police. The 25-year-old driver was driving on the L237 from Oetz towards Kühtai when he went over the edge of the road in a left turn at Haiming. “Then the car flipped over and ended up six meters away in the streambed of the Nederbach,” the police said.
Companion seriously injured
The 23-year-old passenger – also a local – suffered serious injuries in the accident. The driver escaped with minor injuries. An alcohol test was positive for him. Both inmates were taken to Zams Hospital after first aid.
