The carnival is over, but in Seewalchen am Attersee (Upper Austria) a lot of beer ended up on the streets on Thursday morning. However, it was unintentional: a truck drove too fast into a bend and lost more than ten pallets of barley juice. Well cheers!
A sad sight for all fans of cool barley juice: On Thursday there were countless beer crates and cracked bottles on the street in the middle of Seewalchen am Attersee.
“A truck turned too quickly into the bend and the load slid down,” reports Christian Mayerhofer, commander of the Seewalchen volunteer fire brigade. It is believed that more than ten pallets of beer were destroyed as a result.
Road closed for two and a half hours
There were 13 Floriani present who, together with the road maintenance department and using a tractor with a bucket, removed the glass splinters from the road. What was left of the load was loaded back onto the truck.
“The operation took two and a half hours,” says Mayerhofer. The Seewalchener Landesstraße was closed during this period. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
