With the current temperatures, skating on more or less frozen natural lakes is not a good idea. Two men had this experience on Thursday at the Schwarzsee in Kitzbühel (Tyrol). One of the two broke in, the other had the idea to save.
On Thursday at 3:53 p.m., a 32-year-old and a 34-year-old Austrian were at the Schwarzsee in Kitzbühel. The two decided to go ice skating – a risky venture given the current weather conditions.
Suddenly, the 32-year-old broke through the thin layer of ice in the middle of the lake. The rescue chain was set in motion by uninvolved passers-by who observed the incident. The 34-year-old managed to pull the burglar out of the water with a dog leash. The 32-year-old was not injured in the incident.
In addition to the police, the FFW Kitzbühel was also deployed with four vehicles and 18 men, the rescue team with an ambulance and four people and the rescue helicopter.
