Shahed-136, “made in Russia”: Russia is making progress in building a kamikaze drone facility based on the Iranian model, according to a research organization.
A satellite image from mid-September shows that the new construction of the facility corresponds ‘directly’ with a canceled construction plan that the Washington Post newspaper provided to the institute at the beginning of this year, according to a report by the Institute for Science and International Security.
Iranian drone further developed
The owner of the facility is JSC Alabuga. According to the report, a more developed version of Iran’s Shahed-136 will be put into mass production there. “As winter rapidly approaches… Russia is expected to increase its Shahed-136 attacks on Ukraine’s vital energy infrastructure, resulting in brutal living conditions for civilians.”
The institute is calling for sanctions against Alabuga. The US presidential office, the Russian embassy and Iran’s UN mission initially did not respond to questions from Reuters news agency.
