An unknown perpetrator allegedly tore a boiler out of the wall in a toilet on the Med Campus Graz in the Ries district on Saturday. This resulted in massive flooding in the building’s premises. The damage is estimated at several hundreds of thousands of euros. Witnesses are now being sought.
An event with around 100 visitors took place on the grounds of the Med Campus Graz on Neue Stiftingtalstrasse between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. An unknown person may have torn the boiler from the wall anchorage in the disabled toilet at an unclear time.
Hundreds of thousands of euros in damage
The supply pipe was also damaged and a huge water leak occurred, which was only noticed the next day. The basement and ground floor were severely damaged. The damage is estimated at several hundreds of thousands of euros.
